Flamenco guitarist, Javier Gavara has performed during his career with great artists such as Chicuelo, Rafael Cañizares, Diego Cortés, Daniel Francés, Jose Manuel Soto or Montserrat Caballé.
He was part of the project “Guitarras Mestizas” with Max Sunyer, Joan Vinyals, Santi Picó, David Palau, and has record with César Moreno, Montserrat Caballé and Montserrat Martí or the singer Daniel Beltran.
He has been invited for teaching in several seminars,master classes and conferences, such as XXV seminario internacional de Jazz de Barcelona, with Ben Monder, Luciana Souza, Bruce Barth, Steve Wilson and Montez Coleman. He has also participated in several national and international festivals (ciutat Vella,Grec,Candil Flamenco, Cartago etc..)
The great saxophonist Perico Sambeat invited him to compose a flamenco jazz part of his Big Band, so Javier Gavara performed with him and his Flamenco Big Band in Flamenco festival in Barcelona, Frankfurt and Budapest.Arabian and Hindus musicians had also asked him to performed with them.
His project “Entre dos tierras” ( “Between two lands”) opened the third international course of guitar orchestras, an unique fusion never done before, between the spanish music of XXIII century and the flamenco music of XXI century.
Javier Gavara combines his performances with several master classes as well as his work as flamenco guitar teacher at the Music Conservatory of Igualada.
